There are some mornings when I just can't decide if I want something sweet like waffles and syrup or if I want something salty like sausage patties. Either way, I just end up picking one or the other and start making my breakfast. Then I got to thinking, why couldn't I just make something that is both sweet and salty? McDonald's has their breakfast McGriddle that consists of bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiched between two small pancakes infused with maple syrup. But, what about making a sandwich that has bacon, egg, cheese and DONUTS? I just had to give it a try!
Ingredients you will need:
Glazed Donuts (I used Krispy Kreme Donuts, my family's favorite)
Bacon
Eggs
Gouda Cheese (or your favorite kind)

First, fry your bacon in a pan until crispy. Remove the bacon and place them on a paper towel to let the excess grease drip off. Once you are done frying your bacon, pat them dry, and set them aside.

Next, cut your glazed donuts in half length wise. Place them in the bacon grease with the inside facing down.

Cook them on low for 5 - 6 minutes. While they are cooking, slice the cheese or shred it and place it on top of one of the halves.

In a different pan, fry the eggs to your liking. I choose to do my eggs the Sunny-Side-Up way.

When the eggs and donuts are done cooking, it's time to assemble your sandwich. Place the donut side with cheese facing up on your plate first. Then, add your eggs and bacon. Top it with the other half of the donut and you have yourself a delicious and satisfying breakfast sandwich.

This breakfast sandwich was the perfect blend of sweet and salty. And I have to admit, it was quite filling too.

Most people automatically scrunch their nose up and say, "ew" when they hear about a donut breakfast sandwich. But, if you like anything that is sweet and salty, you are going to love this sandwich. Enjoy!
